1. What is Reverse Factoring?

Answer:  Factoring is a financial transaction where a supplier sells accounts receivables to finance working capital requirements. Reverse factoring means financiers factoring the accounts receivables of high quality purchasers. The credit risk is equal to the default risk of the high-quality customer, and not the supplier (SME).

2. What is NTREES Platform?

Answer:  NTREES is a web based electronic platform for receivables discounting initiated by NSE and SIDBI. This platform serves as a central marketplace for e-Discounting of receivables to the participants, namely Purchasers, Suppliers (mainly the MSME players) and the Financiers (Banks, Financial Institutions, NBFCs). NTREES has been able to provide the standardized base of operations considering a multiple participants’ scenario

3. Who are the participants of NTREES?

Answer:   Apart from the Platform Operator (NSE & SIDBI), there are following three categories of participants

  • Financiers: Banks/FI/NBFC/Factoring Companies
  • Purchasers: Financially Strong Purchaser Companies
  • Suppliers: Supplier Companies (mostly MSME players)

4. What are the pre-requisites for participating in NTREES?

Answer:  

  • The participants should have computer with internet connections to access NTREES
    as it is a web based platform
  • Participants should have Bank RTGS details which will be used for transactions in NTREES
  • Participants need to have PAN

5. How to apply for empanelment?

Answer:  

  • For Financiers
    • The empanelment form can be downloaded from the Download section or participants section of NTREES website (www.ntrees.in).
    • The form needs to be duly filled and the necessary documents need to be attached. The list of necessary documents is mentioned in the
      participants section of the NTREES website.
    • The complete set of empanelment form and necessary documents need to be sent to the address mentioned in the participants section.
  • For Purchasers
    • They need to get the “letter of Introduction” from their primary financiers. The format of the same and the Purchaser Empanelment form can be downloaded from the Download section or participants section of NTREES website.
    • The form needs to be duly filled and attached with necessary documents. The list of necessary documents
      is mentioned in the participants section of the NTREES website.
    • The complete set of empanelment form and necessary documents need to be sent to the address mentioned in the participants section.
  • For Suppliers
    • The necessary empanelment formalities will be carried out by the Purchaser who is introducing the supplier to the platform (first time).

6. How can a participant change the profile details (Correspondence & corporate information, bank details, compliance details)?

Answer:  The participant should contact the operator to change the profile details.

7. How can a participant login and use NTREES?

Answer:  On the homepage of the NTREES website, click on the “NTREES Login” link on the left hand side panel which will direct the participant to the application homepage.

8. What is to be done if the participant forgets login id and password?

Answer:  Contact your administrator for login details and password reset. In case administrator forgets login details, contact the operator.

9. What are the different session timings for NTREES?

Answer:  Currently fixed quote auction market operates twice daily –

  • 09.00AM to 1:00PM (Payout on the same day)
  • 1:00PM to 5:00PM (Payout next day)
